CREAM-CHEESE PIE

 

Filling

  • 500 gr cream-cheese*
  • 3 whole eggs
  • sugar according to taste
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar
  • grated peel of 1 lemon

 

Preparation

Prepare the dough by mixing 200 gr of flour, 150 gr butter, one whole egg, one yolk, a pinch of baking soda and  the  lemon juice. Divide the dough into two parts. Roll the first piece out  with the rolling pin and place it on the bottom of a greased baking tin.

Mix the cream-cheese with three whole eggs. Sweeten according to taste. Add the vanilla sugar and the grated lemon peel .Cover the dough  with the prepared cheese. Then put the second rolled out piece of dough on top of the filling and  bake the cake  in the  moderately heated  oven. When golden brown take out of the oven, cool down and cut into square pieces.

Note* This cake can be prepared with poppy-seed filling as well.
